What personal data we process, on what basis, who receives it, and how long we keep it.
Last updated October 17, 2026
This policy explains what personal data Vercity processes, why, on what lawful basis, who receives it, how long it is retained, and what rights you have in relation to it.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising or for cross-site profiling.
Vercity, operating at vercity.online in Lebanon, determines the purposes and means of the processing described in this policy and is the controller in respect of it.
Enquiries and requests concerning personal data may be sent to privacy@vercity.online.
Account data: your name, email address, telephone number, city, date of birth, and a profile photograph where you choose to provide one. Your password is stored in a form that cannot be reversed. Where you answer it, how you heard about Vercity.
Order data: the brief you submit, the Source Material you upload or link to, the Tier and quantity ordered, the price, the Delivery, your rating and written feedback, and any brand notes and reference links you save for future Orders.
Referral data: where a friend code is used, a record linking the two accounts and the thank-you code issued. The person who shared the code is not told who used it.
Advertiser data, for businesses that buy advertising on the Platform: the business name; the name, telephone number and email address of the person we deal with; and the bookings and payments. It is seen by the personnel who handle advertising and finance.
Advertising counts: the number of times each advertisement is shown and selected, per day. These totals are not linked to any person.
Application data, for applicants to perform work: employment and work history, portfolio references, equipment, availability, identity documentation, proof of residence and home address.
Communications: messages sent through the Platform, including messages you subsequently remove from your own view.
Transaction data: amounts charged, paid, refunded and earned. Vercity does not receive or store card numbers.
Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, pages accessed, and authentication events including the times and devices from which you signed in.
Performance of our contract with you: operating your account, processing and dispatching Orders, making Delivery, handling payments and payouts, administering rejections and refunds, and sending service announcements to your Vercity inbox and, unless you have switched email notifications off, by email.
Where a call before your Order begins is offered and you ask for one, a member of our team uses the telephone number on your account to call you. Notes from the call are passed to the Talent with your Order, without your name or number.
Refunds are sent by hand by authorised personnel, who see the details needed to send a refund to you. Access to those details is recorded.
Compliance with legal obligations: maintaining financial records, and being able to demonstrate that account holders are 18 or over.
Our legitimate interests in operating a marketplace that is safe and is not used for fraud: screening submitted content, maintaining records of access to media, retaining authentication history, and investigating suspected fraud, abuse or breach of our policies.
Protecting the Platform from automated and fraudulent use: on every page, including sign-in and sign-up, your browser assesses patterns in how the Platform is being used, in order to distinguish a person from automation software. It never records which keys are pressed or what you type or paste, and it does not read password or one-time-code fields. A summary is sent to Vercity and retained only where it indicates likely automated use, together with your account where you are signed in, your browser details and a one-way code derived from your IP address. Where use appears automated, we may ask you to confirm that you are present before an action proceeds. We do not publish the detail of these checks, because doing so would assist circumvention.
Preventing one person from claiming a one-per-person benefit through several accounts: when you apply to perform work, use a promotional or friend code, or ask for a first-video refund or redo, we compare the technical data described in section 3, and the telephone number on your account, with those of accounts that have already received that benefit. Where the comparison indicates a likely link, the promotional code may be declined or the application may be referred for review or declined. We do not disclose which information matched, because doing so would assist circumvention. If you believe the result is wrong, you may ask us to review it by writing to us.
Our legitimate interest in understanding which channels bring Clients to Vercity, using your answer to how you heard about us where you give one, counted in totals.
Consent, where we ask for it: optional marketing email, which you may withdraw at any time without any effect on your account or your Orders.
Content submitted to the Platform is screened before it is published or passed to another party. Screening applies to submitted text and to submitted media.
Its purpose is to maintain anonymity between Clients and Talent, to prevent the exchange of contact or identifying information, and to prevent prohibited material from reaching another user. The categories of prohibited content and conduct are set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.
Where a submission is rejected, the submission is not saved and a record of the attempt is retained for review. We do not disclose which criterion a rejected submission failed, because a detailed explanation would assist circumvention.
Source Material and finished work are held in private storage and are not published at any publicly accessible address.
Source Material collected on a storage device may be copied to our private file storage, where only the Talent assigned to your Order can access it.
Access to these files is authenticated, and we retain a record of access events. The purpose of that record is to allow us to establish what occurred in the event that material is disclosed without authorisation.
Access records are available to authorised Vercity personnel. They are not disclosed to the other party to your Order.
Clients and Talent are not given each other's identity or contact information. The parties are identified to one another by reference code only.
Authorised Vercity personnel are able to identify both parties, to the extent necessary to resolve a dispute, verify a payment or investigate a report.
The Talent assigned to an Order receives the brief and the Source Material for that Order. They do not receive the Client's name or contact information.
Our service providers process personal data on our instructions and for no other purpose. They comprise our hosting and database provider, our file storage provider, our email provider, our payment provider, a provider that assists with the screening described in section 5, and a provider that reports technical faults in the Platform so that we can correct them.
Advertisers receive totals of views and selections of their own advertisements, and nothing about the people concerned.
Public authorities, where disclosure is required by law. Where we are permitted to inform you, we will.
We do not sell personal data and we do not disclose it for any third party's advertising purposes.
Some of our service providers process personal data outside Lebanon, including in the European Union and the United States. Where they do, the transfer is governed by contractual protections requiring a standard of protection equivalent to that described in this policy.
Source Material and finished work: three days following Delivery, after which they are removed from our systems. Where a first video is redone, the first version is withdrawn from you at once and removed with the redo's files.
Brand notes and reference links you save: until you change or clear them, or close your account.
Referral records and how you heard about us: for as long as your account is open, and for the period necessary to account for any code issued.
Identity documentation provided by applicants and Talent: for the duration of the engagement and for a limited period afterwards for the prevention of fraud, after which it is deleted. It is accessible only to authorised personnel and is never disclosed to Clients.
Order, payment and payout records: retained following account closure, for the period necessary to account for payments made and received and to meet our record-keeping obligations. Advertiser, booking and advertising payment records are retained on the same basis.
Communications: removing a conversation removes it from your view. A copy is retained by Vercity for so long as it may be required to resolve a dispute or a report.
Screening records and media access records: retained for security review.
Records of linked-account checks that were referred for review or declined: retained for security review.
Records of likely automated use: 90 days, after which they are deleted.
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, request that it be corrected, request its deletion, or object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests. Requests may be sent to privacy@vercity.online and we will respond within 30 days.
You may close your account yourself from Settings at any time.
Deletion does not extend to records we are required by law to retain, or to personal data required for the establishment or defence of a claim already in progress. Where records are retained on that basis, we retain the minimum necessary and cease using them for any other purpose.
We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful access, alteration, disclosure, loss and destruction, and we review those measures periodically.
We do not publish the detail of those measures, because doing so would assist attempts to defeat them.
No system can be guaranteed secure. Where a security incident affects your personal data, we will notify you and will state what occurred.
The Platform is not directed at persons under 18 and we do not knowingly process the personal data of children. If you believe that we hold such data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Where we make a change to this policy that affects you, we will give notice within the Platform and by email before the change takes effect. The date at the foot of this document is the date of the current version.
