For editors, photographers and couriers: engagement, fees, clearance and payment.
Last updated October 17, 2026
You are engaged by Vercity as an independent contractor and not as an employee. You decide whether to accept each Order offered to you.
You are responsible for your own equipment, for your own tax affairs, and for any registration or licence your work requires.
Nothing in these terms creates a relationship of employment, partnership, agency or exclusivity. You are free to undertake work elsewhere.
An application requires work samples and identity documentation, including proof of identity, a verification photograph, proof of residence and your home address. We verify applicants because Clients pay in advance for work performed by a person they cannot identify, and because we must know who holds an account that receives payments.
Your documentation is accessible only to authorised Vercity personnel and is never disclosed to a Client.
An application fee may apply. It is consideration for reviewer time and is not refundable where an application is unsuccessful.
Clients are not given your identity, your contact information or your location, and you are not given theirs. The parties are identified to one another by reference code only.
You must not attempt to contact a Client outside the Platform, and must not accept an invitation to do so. Doing so removes the payment protection that applies to work contracted through the Platform, for both parties, and may result in closure of your account.
Each Tier carries a fixed fee per piece of work, set by Vercity and disclosed to you before you accept an Order. The fee is not negotiable and does not vary according to the amount paid by the Client. You are not shown Client pricing and are not paid a variable percentage.
Additional versions or work beyond the brief do not alter the fee for that Order. They are taken into account in your merit assessment.
Your merit assessment reflects your delivery record, Client ratings and review outcomes. Your working Tier is derived from that assessment.
You may request advancement to a higher Tier and submit work for assessment. Reviewers assess the work against the standard for the Tier applied for. Where an application is unsuccessful you will be given reasons and may apply again.
The standard for each Tier is set out in a tier protocol, which you may read in your portal. Protocols are provided for reading only, are confidential, and are marked with your account identifier. You must not copy, record or share them.
Limited use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted, and is recommended for some tasks, as the protocol describes. Generated or synthetic material must be declared in your delivery note. Where a Delivery presents synthetic material as real footage, Vercity may move you to a lower Tier.
Accepting an Order is an undertaking to meet the 24-hour delivery commitment made to the Client.
Where the Client chose a delivery time, your deadline is shown on the offer and is fixed when you accept: 10 hours on a 24-hour Order, 22 hours on a 48-hour Order and 34 hours on a 72-hour Order, unless Vercity publishes different periods. An extension may only be granted within that Order's delivery time.
If your deadline passes without a submission, the Order is passed to other Talent, no fee is paid to you for it, and an accountability fee is deducted from your balance. Where your balance cannot cover the accountability fee, your account is suspended until it is paid.
Where you cannot open or use the Source Material, report it on the job before you submit. Your deadline is paused while Vercity resolves it and resumes with the time that remained when you reported it. No accountability fee applies to the pause. Where the Order is cancelled because usable Source Material cannot be provided, no fee is paid to you for it and no accountability fee is charged.
The Client may ask for one revision per video before rating it. You resubmit within the time shown, at no additional fee. A revision not resubmitted in time carries the same accountability fee, and your original Delivery stands.
A revision covers changes within the original brief and its references. Where you consider that a request goes beyond them, report it on the job: your deadline is paused and Vercity decides. Where the request goes beyond the brief, the revision is closed and your original Delivery stands. Otherwise you resume with the time that remained.
On a Client's first Order, the Client may choose to have the video made again by other Talent. In that case no fee is paid to you for that Order, no accountability fee applies, and the Order is not counted in your ratings. Where the redo is not delivered in time, your original Delivery stands and your fee is paid.
You may appeal an accountability fee once, within 30 days of it being charged, from your Jobs page. Appeals are decided by a person. Where an appeal is accepted, the fee is cancelled, any amount already deducted is returned to your balance, and a suspension caused by unpaid fees ends.
A Client may ask for you again by your alias. You then receive the first offer for that Order.
Missed deadlines are taken into account in your merit assessment, and repeated failure to meet deadlines may result in closure of your account.
Where you are unable to deliver, you must notify us at the earliest opportunity so that the Order can be reassigned. Early notification is treated materially differently from a failure to respond.
Fees are recorded to your account on Delivery and clear 30 days afterwards. The clearance period exists because a Delivery may be rejected and refunded within it.
Vercity may revise the fee for a Tier. A revised fee applies only to Orders placed after the revision. An Order keeps the fee disclosed to you when it was offered, and your fee is not reduced where the Client paid with a pack or a discount code.
Cleared balances are paid monthly by electronic transfer to a payment application or bank account in your name, by Whish or by bank transfer. Vercity does not make payments in cash and does not deliver payments in person. You may record your preferred method and currency in your portal. The method, currency and date of each payout are confirmed to you before it is sent.
Every movement in your account balance is recorded as a ledger entry visible to you. Balances are derived from those entries and are not adjusted directly.
Fees are withheld in respect of work that is rejected on review, in respect of work found not to be your own, and in respect of a first Order the Client chose to have made again by other Talent, as clause 6 describes.
Two-factor authentication is mandatory for Talent accounts. You will be required to complete enrolment before certain functions of the Talent portal become available to you.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Your account holds a balance payable to you, and a password alone is not sufficient protection for it.
Source Material provided by a Client, and the finished work you deliver, belong to the Client.
You must not retain, reuse, publish or display either, including as portfolio material, without the Client's written permission.
Vercity may display a Delivery as an example of what Vercity produces, unless the Client has withheld or withdrawn permission under clause 12 of the Terms of Service.
Your name is never attached when we do so. Anonymity applies to promotional use as it applies elsewhere. Material displayed in this way is an example of the Platform's output and is not a credit to you, and it is not a substitute for a portfolio of your own.
You may cease accepting Orders at any time, and may close your account once outstanding Orders have been delivered. Cleared fees remain payable to you.
Vercity may terminate the engagement for missed deadlines, for delivering work that is not your own, for presenting synthetic or AI-generated material as real or concealing its use, for attempting to conduct an Order or payment outside the Platform, or for abuse. Appeals may be sent to appeals@vercity.online.
Enquiries about working with Vercity may be sent to talent@vercity.online.
