The cookies Vercity sets, what each is for, and how to decline the optional ones.

Vercity sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies, and embeds no third party advertising technology. Nothing described in this notice follows you to another website or builds a profile of you.
We ask for your choice because one of the cookies described below is not strictly necessary to operate the Platform, and you are entitled to decline it while retaining the cookies that keep you signed in.
Authentication, strictly necessary. A secure cookie that maintains your session and identifies your account on each request. An account cannot be used without it. It is cleared when you sign out.
Security, strictly necessary. Short-lived values used to complete sign-in and two-factor steps and to prevent cross-site request forgery.
Consent record (`vc-consent`), strictly necessary. Records whether you selected "Accept all" or "Essential only", so that you are not asked again on each page. Retained for one year.
Referral attribution (`vc_r`), optional. Set only where you arrive through a share or invite link. It contains the referral code you arrived with, so that credit reaches the person who referred you. It contains no identifier and cannot be read by any other website. Retained for thirty days.
Because a referral code is knowable only at the moment of arrival, that cookie is set on arrival, which may be before you have responded to the banner. If you then select "Essential only" it is deleted immediately, and it is not set again on any subsequent visit while that choice stands.
Gift link (`vc_g`), strictly necessary. Set only when you open a gift link that someone sent you. It holds a random token that allows Vercity to apply that gift to your order; it does not contain the gift code, cannot be read by scripts on the page and cannot be read by any other website. It is deleted when the gift is applied or dismissed, and otherwise after thirty days.
Your appearance choice, whether your side navigation is collapsed, and similar display preferences are stored in your browser and are not transmitted to Vercity.
An order you have started but not placed is saved in your browser so that it is not lost if you leave the page. Saved orders, and any other stored information that relates to a person or an order, are encrypted with a key that is created in your browser, cannot be exported from it, and is never sent to Vercity. Where your browser cannot encrypt, such information is not stored.
A random identifier for your browser is stored so that reports of likely automated use from the same browser can be grouped, as described in section 4 of the Privacy Policy. It contains nothing about you, and clearing your browser storage replaces it.
Your choice of screen size for each portal is stored in your browser, like your appearance choice, and is not transmitted to Vercity.
Each time a page is opened, the browser checks that the page is genuine, that the connection is secure and that Vercity's services can be reached. These checks are carried out in your browser and their results are not transmitted to Vercity.
Clearing your browser storage removes all of the above. Beyond the loss of your preferences and any unplaced order, it has no other effect.
On your first visit, a banner presents two options of equal prominence: "Accept all" and "Essential only". Selecting "Essential only" retains the strictly necessary cookies described above and sets nothing optional.
You may change your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which causes the banner to be presented again on your next visit.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies. Blocking the authentication cookie will prevent you from remaining signed in.
